How are you fixing yours? Got a patch kit?

I was going to go pick one up from Target, but it occurred to me: a tent patch kit is merely a small patch of nylon and some rubber contact cement. Since there seems to be an endemic weakening of the material just above the seam, I'll have to buy two or three patch kits for now, and then play catch-up for each new hole that develops. A good stiff wind may tear the entire thing right off the base!

My plan, now, is to buy some nylon, cut it into strips, cauterize the edges, and contact cement a "skirt" around the entire lower edge of the tent, on the inside. Hopefully, this joins the healthier material above the seam with the underside of the seam inside the tent. I can't do it on the outside of the tent, as it will cover the screws that anchor the tent to the shell.
