The death of a diesel engine

I still haven't picked up the truck yet. We are in the middle of a blizzard right now. It just dropped about 9 inches of snow in the last two hours.

I think there is some clearing tomorrow and I'll be able to get out.

She has breath in her again!

I took the truck for a 150 mile trip today. Shouldn't have been that long but an accident closed the road ahead of me and the alternative route was circuitous.

My initial impression is that the engine is running way smoother than the old one, the transmission shifts smoothly (it should it only has 500 miles on it), and there is nothing dripping, leaking, or shooting out of it anywhere that I can see.

So all in all it's my life savings well spent, well sort of.

Drove close to 800 miles from Truckee CA to Prescott AZ.

No issues at all, didn't use any oil or lose and coolant.

So far so good :sombrero:

I've been modestly following this thread from day one. I have to say, the whole ordeal might make a good book. :) If you need a retirement plan, there's my two cents.
