The Family Wagon - '19 Power Wagon

I will say with my Maple Offroad sliders, there is zero vibration/noise/weirdness... I did mount mine as low as possible since the wife and dog use them as steps. I feel like those reports of vibrations were early on, who knows what was going on...

That's also partially why I mounted them as low as possible as well. The next couple of mods will be more underbody protection; thinking of running the Purple Cranium diff guards and once Dethloff releases their trans skid for the 19+ i'll probably pick up one of those as well.
Then I need to figure out what i'm going to do on top of the RCI rack; leaning towards running a platform like the Rhino Rack Pioneer or the Yakima Locknload.

Finally decided on Ground Tent vs RTT; ended up deciding that a ground tent would work better for our family so after a bit of research ordered up a Gazelle T4.

With that settled, it was time to figure out what to put on top of the RCI Rack. I decided to go with the Yakima LocknLoad platform setup since I wanted to run a setup that didn't add to the height of the truck when it was unloaded.
After measuring the rack I had and the space from the cab to the end of the bed I ended up going with the "B" size; 60"x54". The other available sizes were either too long or too wide.
The downside which I didn't realize until after assembling the platform and trying to mount it was the spacing between the crossbars of the RCI wouldn't let me run the platform centered over the rack. After thinking about it for a little bit I decided to turn the platform 90 degrees to utilize the RCI crossbars that run from front to back (good thing I ordered the extra top crossbar with the rack). This orientates the slats front to back on the platform which shouldn't be a problem since thats the way Rhinorack orientates their Pioneer platforms.
One other problem I had with the platform was that one of the mounting brackets came with a missing nut insert. After contacting them it looks like it'll be at least a couple of weeks before they can even check to see if they have an extra one at the warehouse (they're all working remote). I hope they do since I have a feeling if they don't it'll be months before I can get a replacement part; which obviously sucks after spending a bunch of money on this setup.
In the meantime I was able to go ahead and utilize the busted part as a stopgap until I get the new part.

The other add-on I made to the RCI Rack was their bike mount. I live by a bunch of trails here in Socal so I figured i'd get a bike to putt around on. I also needed to be able to transport it if needed so their bike brackets seemed to be solid choice.
As for a bike, I wanted an overall trail bike so after a bunch of research I ended up picking up a Canyon Neuron AL 6.0 SL.
This should hold me over for a long time while I learn and then can upgrade components later down the line as needed.

The bike hauling has evolved at my house as the kids bikes have grown. I just picked this rack up. I’m tempted to try the Etrailer hitch/receiver combo to see if my trailer will clear the bikes with the rack mounted to the receiver welded to the top of the hitch bar. Then we can drop the trailer and go hit the trails with no repacking / rejiggering the bikes. The vertical rack keeps em in tight and hauls up to 6?

Only issue I’ve had with those vertical racks (NSR is another), if you even have the slightest bubble in your brake line, you won’t have brakes when you take the bikes off at the trailhead. Pump it a few times and it may work again but just something to be aware of.

I just like throwing them over the tailgate.

I had that issue with my cheap brakes I store my bike hung vertically in the garage also. I replaced the brakes with good stuff zero problems. But yes thats a potential issue with those brakes especially the cheap ones.

Mine are either XT or XTR. Friends also ride XT+ or high end Sram/Mag/Formula. It’s just air in the system. Regular maintenance, and it shouldn’t really be a problem. But I am prone to laziness at times.

How do you like the Yakima awning?

With the SIP orders lifting soon i'm hoping to take the rig out soon to give everything a shake down. I've been itching to take it out but I guess I haven't had too much time with the newborn baby taking up most of my free time.
As far as initial impressions of the awning; it actually seems kind of meh as far as overall build quality. Nothing crazy wrong but some of the parts seem a little flimsy. I get a pretty good discount off of Yakima (hence the awning and platform choices) and since they've been around for a long time I figure if any issues do come up they'll be around to help me out.

My latest mod just came in the mail and is one that i'm pretty stinking excited about!
AEV Finally released their Procal SNAP for the '19-20 RAM HD's!
This finally allowed me to set my TPMS below the factory threshold without having the stupid TPMS flashing at me everytime I started the truck. On my Powerwagon it would go off at 52.5 PSI. I have it currently set to 35 PSI as the alert threshold (the lowest possible). I run my tires at 50F/45R PSI.
The SNAP also allowed me to input my new tire size to recalibrate the speedo/odo; when I measured my AT3W which were listed as 35x12.5x17" they measured at 33.7" true height.

Also, Dethloff MFG released their Engine/Trans skid for the '19-20 Powerwagons; that's on order and i'll update when it finally ships and is in my hands.

I’ve been looking at the snap, there is a hAeneas for it, was that an easy hook up or did you have to pull the dash apart?

the delthof skid plate still haven’t shipped, I’ve had mine on order for several weeks now.

Do you have any squeaks or vibrations from your sliders? I just ordered a set and don’t want to go through that again.

I popped the headlight dial panel on my truck to get access to the “green panel”. Took all of 15 minutes to install and set up. Awesome product but I still feel like this should be available from the factory in the head unit.
