The Forge Overland Adventure Truck Build (2015 Tundra)

Well, it has officially begun with a ton of help from our friend's at Hefty Fabworks, Cooper Tires and Toytec Lifts.
The truck is a 2015 Toyota Tundra SR5 Double Cab, Standard Bed that I picked up with just under 23k on the clock.
The price was right because it had a few little dings, and large dents in both bumpers (like I care about the stock bumpers :)
The idea is to have a utilitarian pickup with a ton of power for moderate off road trails and mtn passes, while maintaining it's ability to perform truck duties and pull trailers in the future.
I will be posting a lot of brand new products from Hefty Fabworks in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. A list of current, and future mods will be posted below

Current suspension:
Toytec Boss coilovers with 700 pound Eibach coils turned up to about 3 1/2" of front lift and the ability to support the coming winch bumper, and 10k winch
Total Chaos upper control arms and Toytec 1" diff drop
OME Dakar leaf packs for approximately 2 1/2" of rear lift and extra load capability
Toytec Boss rear shocks
I expected a stiffer ride when this was complete, but it actually feels like stock which was a very pleasant surprise!

I have also removed 1/3 of the rear seats to mount my 50qt ARB fridge/freezer (I will add a post about that later)

Mods that will be complete in the next 2 or 3 weeks:
Hefty Fabworks front winch Bumper. A completely new and tough design available in both steel and Aluminum... it looks ************ too
Warn VR10000 winch with steel rope
Rigid Industries Dually (flush mount) floods
Rigid Industries Radiance 30" single row lightbar
Hefty Fabworks new modular bedrack that will soon be available for many different models, and I guarantee it is the most ************ product out there for the Tundra!
(product release coming soon!)
On the recessed bedrack:
James Baroud Discovery Space EVO roof top tent (stolen from my 4runner)
Rotopax (dual 2 gallon for now)
Shovel and axe mounts
Tepui Tents 80" awning
295/70r18 Cooper STT Pro

Future mods:
Hefty Fabworks rear bumper with potential tire carrier and backup camera capability
Hefty Fabworks Sliders
Second battery. Deep cycle on an isolator located somewhere under the truck
Exhaust and performance air filter... TBD
Detroit Trutrac rear limited slip (I've had 3 of these and love them) they are tough as nails, and the traction is there when you need it!

Thats all the plans I have for now, but we all know that list will GROW!! Thanks for looking

Interested in seeing where this goes as I'm about to purchase the same truck and am planning to do some of the same mods.

The Hefty Fabworks bedrack is a beast, and has added no noticeable wind noise with our James Baroud Dicovery Space EVO rtt
The Toytec Boss 2.0 suspension system with total chaos UCAs and Dakar leaf packs ride amazing on and off road, and the Cooper STT Pros in 295/70r18 have some serious bite to go along with their very respectable road manners

Love the double cab Tundra. Interested to see how you find its size on tighter trails. Excellent setup so far, tuned for more.

great looking rig. how long have you hand the James Bourd?

Ive had it just this season. I had a Tepui for a couple years before that on the 4runner. It is wind tested to 74mph, waterproof canvas and super tough in bad weather. The size leaves a bit to be desired for a guy over 6' though... full review coming this fall on ForgeOverland.com

Sweet rig and I look forward to Tundra info. I've always loved the Tundras but my wallet likes the Tacoma, lol...

Gotta ask... How terrible is the mileage now? After 23k miles, I may just finish above 16mpg on a tank.
