The Fzj80 Overland/Festival Rig build

BTW, the ultimate festival is Burning Man if you can get your hands on some tickets. I have been out there a couple times and besides the madness that ensues all week, there is no shortage of tricked out overland rigs. They look so good covered in all that playa dust.

I'm not sure what that is in your garage but I'd love to take it for a spin. :smiley_drive: The 80 series you picked up is set up a lot better than my first Cruiser was. Good choice! I grew up in Atlanta (Stone Mountain area) and spent a lot of time looking for remote places to explore. Hard to find down there in the South, but if you want a long weekend adventure, head up to Big South Fork north of Knoxville. Nothing too difficult, but there is a lot of national forest to explore up that way. I believe the legendary Tellico OHV area is now closed but I'm not positive of the status.

Thanks bud! I really am happy with where it is, its just killing me to not spend anything on it right now lol. I appreciate info, I'm only a few hours from Knoxville so I will definitely be making that trip soon. I'm itching to do a little out of state exploring. I'm not big on burn festivals but Burning man has always been on my bucket list, I'll surely give it a shot in the coming years.

I'd love an M sport E38! Still such a good looking car! That $750 dollar e36 looks pretty clean from the picture!
Haha I loved the way that car looked, got more attention from females than anything else I've ever driven. It just spent more time crapping on me and my wallet than it did letting me drive it lol. The e36 was definitely a sweet score, you gotta love Craigslist.

Not much to report yet unfortunately. I've been in Colorado house searching so the LC has been neglected. I haven't even had time to get a tag on this thing lol. I'm now experiencing an aggravating driveshaft "growl." Sweet. I did manage to put a sticker on it.

Oh and Murphy likes the 80.

1st: amazing arsenal of rigs. I appreciate the dedication to the variety.
2nd: I spent my teen years in Marietta. My parents still live near Sprayberry. I was big into the JDM scene and "Barrett Pkwy cruising" back in the day
3rd: what part of Colorado did you move to? I lived in Glenwood Springs for a couple years before moving back south a little over a year ago. I thought lifted trucks were popular in the south but Colorado rigs are a different breed! There are so many sick rigs out there!
4th: I think you might've been the breeze to push me in the direction of Land Cruiser ownership. I love my Tahoe through and through but your rig is off to a great start and from your history, the future rig in your driveway had my gears spinning!

Take care brother

Really appreciate that man! I live maybe 5 minutes from Sprayberry lol. Small world. Barrett parkway isn't much these days but Ill occasionally go to do a few burnouts. I haven't moved to Colorado just yet, we have secured a place in south Boulder and will be moving in at the mid to end of the summer. Cant friggin wait. My girlfriend and I made a trip in September for our birthdays, I had never seen so many cruisers in my life. When we went to check in to our hotel in Golden and passed Slee my jaw hit the floorboard lol. Tahoe's are great, much better power with the 5.3, but you really can't beat a fzj80 for the money. I love them and I seriously doubt I will ever own another platform for off-roading.

Not much of an update. I finally got the title transferred and a tag on it yesterday lol. I'm slackin. Im hoping I can get my springs swapped around tomorrow because the previous owner got the driver and passenger side springs mixed up, causing it to lean to the drivers side by a little over an inch.

If you look closely you can see said gangsta lean:
