The iPhone Fashion Shoot

would have looked better if it was shot with any P&S camera..

there really isn't much technical hurdles separating cell phone cameras and P&S cameras.. When the phone manufactures start taking their cell phone feature seriously and put in decent sensor + software + lens, then the P&S will go extinct. iPhone 4 just has the best camera right now for stills and videos

And probably would have looked better if shot with any full frame dslr and not with $50 flood lights from Lowes. This photographer was not being paid for a fashion shoot but decided to try his iPhone and see what results he could accomplish. In 2 years owners will be using their tablets as cell phones with cameras and video. Instead of a 3 inch screen for composing or viewing they will have 7 and 8 inch high resolution screens. Then you will see the demise of the netbook which is now floundering. Apple has 3 or more next generations iPhones planned and in development along with next generations iPads as does other competitors. It´s only going to get better and really dazzle us much faster than we have seen for the last 5 years.

Well the guy is not lacking equipment.. used Lowes continuous work lights because you can not "trigger" a studio strobe with an iphone.

I don't think there's anything extraordinary about these.. as smart phones evolve, they'll naturally have better and better cameras incorporated. The iphone is at a point capable of putting out these images in adequate lighting conditions.

But I don't think folks will be taking pictures with a tablet...

Man, I'm loving that. It does help to have a few thousand dollars worth of lights of all types, and a SMOKING HOT model with fabulous, um, features.

remember back in the film days? Magazine shooters w/ medium format cameras and huge budgets shoot a ton of preview shots on polaroids? same idea..

I am waiting for the cell phone manufacturers to get serious amd build me a phone that doesn´t lose the signal because the of the terrain. Get serious and give me some lasting battery power . I bought the phone and signed the contract and now stop screwing around and improve my connection. Solution? Take a point and shoot camera that is water proof, dust proof and has a 16mg large sensor and takes photos as good as a dslr and put a phone in it that preforms as a phone should. Now, I will be happy.
