These locking hubs are bad-***, definitely worth the money. I got the calipers painted up and put back-on as well. The Dana 60 is complete, she's my pride and joy! :wings:

She's come a long way since I drug it home...

I'll haul everything out to the shop tomorrow, and start bolting the motor/tranny/transfer case together. Drivetrain is complete (well... minus the locker for the rear) but I can put it together finally!

I've been wrestling with the motor/tranny/transfer case for about 2 days now. I tried to use the studs from the adapter kit but realized they were too short, so I spent money on a 6' length of hardened 3/8" all-thread to make longer ones. The 3/8" stud will screw all the way into the hole, but when you start pulling them in, you will rip the threads out.. Wanna know how I know?? UGH..... If I was using this adapter for it's intended purpose, replacing a 700r4 with a th350, the studs would've worked fine, because the th350 uses standard bolts. But the 700r4 needs a metric bolt....

SO we thought we were going to be slick and buy some hardened metric bolts (M10x1.50) and cut the head off and thread the other end.... Yaaaa, not so much. That **** is hard as hell, and I couldn't get the die to bite.

So I called fastenal back and had them order me 3' of M10x1.50 hardened all-thread rod and nuts, hopefully they show up tomorrow....

In the meantime I started building a twin-stick shifter for the NP205... I forgot to take pics of my work, but remembered to snag a few of my buddy turning down my bushings on his lathe, I'll have more pics of that tomorrow. It's looking pretty good!

So I finally got my transfer case mounted up, what a debacle that was.... I did a little reinforcing by adding a couple of nuts to the back side, just in-case the threads give away in the transmission. I can just tighten up the nuts on the transfer case side and get back to the house. Everything pulled tight and didn't budge, I'm just being extra cautious...

I had to trim the adapter a little bit in order for it to sit flush, nothing a little die grinder couldn't take care of... I just knocked the corner off of it and it slid right on.

My buddy kept saying that I didn't have to trim the output shaft in the tranny, so I listened to him. Well, THIS is what happens when you don't trim that 1/4" off of the tail-shaft and you try to pull everything tight...Now I'm going to need a rear bearing retainer for the NP205

So I took it back off, trimmed the shaft, and everything slid together like butter...

To take my mind off of my broken tailshaft housing, I got a good start on my twin-stick shifter for the NP205. The links are from a JK lift kit that I installed for a guy. We used a currie anti-rock sway bar, so these sway bar extensions weren't needed. I'm $7.78 (grade 8 bolt, washers, and nut) and an hour of my time into this shifter, so I'm not hurt on this thing....

I should've tightened everything up before I took a pic, but it all has to come apart tomorrow to finish welding. So things look crooked in this pic, but it's all square...

I'm not sure what I'm going to use for shifters yet, but they will be welded to those two uprights...

I'm going to replace the metal that's on the shift rails. I have a better concept of how to do it, I just didn't have a piece of pipe big enough to fit over the rails. So I'll stop by and grab some scraps from the metal shop on monday...

Thanks man! I figure there's somebody, SOMEWHERE, that's going to want to research how to do one of these some day. Maybe this will help them a little...

I wasn't quite happy with everything I made for the shifter yesterday, so I rebuilt most of it out of 1/4" today. Everything lines up and fits a little better, I'm happy now... I'm trying to figure out what I want for shifters..... Samurai swords? I have some solid rod that I could use to mount a death star on one and Darth Vader on the other? IDK, She'll let me know what she wants... lol

I bent up some shifter handles for the twin-stick and burned them in...

Then cut them off and lowered them down closer to the transfer case some more. I'm not sure how much space I'll have in there, and it just looks better...

My welding abilities are starting to come back! lol

My buddy was pulling a tranny out of an s10 blazer and donated this to the build. There's a lot of weight hanging off the back of that tranny, so it's just a little insurance. I whipped up a 1/4" plate to mount it to, using existing bolt holes in the transfer case...

Firs thing this morning I pulled the doors off and swapped out the worn out hinges for the ones from the motorhome, they are like new. I should have done this when the dash was out, those top bolts were a ***** to get to!

Then I made a couple small brackets to mount the huge *** motorhome radiator mounts that were twice as big as the originals... I needed to mount the radiator so I know where the motor goes. I'd feel pretty stupid if I welded in motormounts and then my fan hit the radiator once I tried to put it in...
