Are you trying to regulate the weight or just loading up what you need?
Do you take the same gear all of the time or do you have speciality equipment that may change the weight?
Very interesting thread...
I take the same stuff every single time. Only thing that changes is the amount of water/food(depends how long we are out).
I always have 3 bundles of firewood, 2 fuel tanks, 2 gas cans, 1 water can etc etc etc. Nothing really we dont need.
Last time i weighed it, i didnt have a few mods done yet.. like the aux fuel tank.
Yep its my daily driver, but it doesnt get driven around with all the gear in it. Also it doesnt get any fuel in the aux tank driving around town.
My impression is that it is totally normal for a overland 80 to weigh this much. Im about the average from what i've heard from other 80 owners that are setup for expedition travel. That's why we run big springs out back with tons of capacity. So nope, not worried, its about right..
Just amazes me that this truck weighs more than my Army truck did with huge axles and 40" tires lol
This is one of the reasons why we are getting a trailer... to carry over some weight from the 80 to the trailer...
