Love the handlebar bag, is this the Kelty recently mentioned? Big wheels in 1892! Gary Fisher is a poser next to this guy, lol.

The author was just here signing books. There's a pic of Lenz in my town in that book.

He was off the back by many years as far as packing up a bike and hitting the 'road'. There were a number of guys who went round the globe on high wheels (and also vanished)!

There are some very cool and well thought out bike bags from <1900....like all things it seems, the militarys of the world did some amazing r&d in terms of both bicycle design and bag design etc.
