The Panamerican adventure has begun! San Francisco to Patagonia ?

We're 20 days in on our adventure from San Francisco to the tip of South America. Baja California amazed us, and we just completed the ferry across to Mainland Mexico. We're David and Christoph, two San Diego natives, traveling in Bessie, our 2003 4Runner (V8 4x4). We've been planning the trip for about a year now, and plan to spend nearly a year on the road. It's been an incredible 20 days so far.

We plan to ship the car to Cartagena via shared shipping container. We've found the 'Panamerican Travelers Association' Facebook Group extremely helpful for much of our planning, especially the Darien Gap.
