These look like awsome tents but I'm starting to wonder if they are still in buesness. I've gotten zero response lately and the home office in South Africa is bouncing emails.

Is anyone home :Wow1:

hello mister bundu guy; been doing some research on the tents and had some questions; with the stargazer version; it does have a closure for when rain does come correct?? also any videos on that particular model?? searched youtube and internet but most just show setup etc. anyone here have time or pics of the star gazer???

I have the Deluxe model with the Stargazer panels. The fly covers the stargazer panels, along with the normal protection you would have from your typical window. I do not have pictures, but I can vouch for the comfort & quality of the Howling Moon tents. Absolutely no regrets whatsoever. I do have experience with other tents also, to back that up.

I've been talking to these guys for 2 months. Very helpful but they can only sell what they have access to. As of today they have a 1.6 deluxe stargazer with no idea on when another shipment will come In. I'm looking for a 1.4 touring stargazer so I guess I'll have to continue waiting for ........ Or go for an eezi awn

If I remember right, Bunduguy was supposed to be getting a shipment in last October. If there hasn't been a new shipment come in, then it sounds like Eezi Awn is your best choice. Either that or someone needs to force a group buy.

My partner and I spent a year sleeping in our Howling Moon 1.6m Deluxe Rooftop tent as we travelled through Europe, the Middle East and onto Australia during a career break about 3 years ago. Having carefully examined all the rival brands of roof tents available in the UK, we felt that the Howling Moon best met our requirements and that the features and quality of the fit and finish was better than the more established brands.

It never let us down despite having to cope with sub-zero to 30+ centigrade temperatures as well as torrential rain and howling gales, and was our sanctuary from the incessant dust of the Australia outback that covered everything inside the vehicle (a non-air conditioned Land Rover Defender 110), but each night the tent was dust free (the cover kept everything out - rain and dust). It was even field repairable after forgetting how tall the vehicle was! The hinge brackets bent after an overhead collision, but after a few minutes of muscle and hammer power, I had the brackets straightened and bolted back on.

The only modification we made was to use a couple of closed cell foam matts under the mattress to stop condensation forming between the composite base board and the mattress during the night – this also added to the comfort.

We chose the Deluxe rather than the Tourer as liked having two large door openings either end for the better view and ventilation they provided compared to the covered entrance, and also didn’t need the annex tent. The current Tourer design is a little different to the one available at the time, with a mesh window in the annex roof, and the Stargazer wasn’t available when we bought.

Highly recommended if you want a quality product that’s going to last you years, and if you value a good night’s sleep.

Mike.

Mike, Thanks for your input about Howling Moon. I think I made my decision a long time ago, but this solidifies it.

Hard to say. He posted a thread here on ExPo that he is selling his rig, got lots of replies, but hasn't posted again. It's kinda odd.

Big fan of Howling Moon. Love mine. Great quality and has held up great in the Arizona sun with ZERO issues. No affiliation, just a very happy owner in Arizona of a HM rtt.
