Hey Everyone,

After 3,538 miles in Namibia, it's time to wave goodbye to this magical country and say hello to Botswana, African country number 19!
I have been told many, many great things about Bots, so I'm really looking forward to exploring the remote corners.

I don't believe I am brave enough to sleep in a rooftop tent in African Lion country! Especially not when I know for a fact that they are Eating right close by!:Wow1:
But then I am no so sure West Africa would be any less potentially frightening.

Hi All,

I crossed into South Africa no problems at all, and after a quick jaunt I have crossed into the Kingdom of Lesotho!
(Don't worry, I'll go back to South Africa for a lot more exploring!)

Lesotho is amazing, here we are enjoying the views of one of the biggest single-drop waterfalls in Africa - 630ft.

Hi All,

I continued to explore Lesotho, finding a ton of great wild camp spots:


Then I got the Jeep to probably the highest it will be on the continent (10,630ft.)


Which I thought was a good excuse for a beer at the highest pub in Africa:

From there, I dropped down the super-famous Sani Pass into South Africa. It's a stunning pass with a few wicked switchbacks, of course the first vehicle to ever drive it was a Jeep!

Down the bottom where it straightens out in SA they are doing a MASSIVE amount of road work. The road has virtually washed away and all the embankments have collapsed, so I think they really had to do it or close the entire pass. They're building bridges right now, and I suspect they will pave when done.
The pavement also goes right up to it on the Lesotho side.. so it will literally only be the ~6 miles of the actual climb that will be gravel.

Just wanted to say kudos to you for doing this. I want to get back to African continent as a tourist. Spent time there whilst serving in the military. Safe travels.
