So I'm trying to wrap my head around this (I didn't get a lot of sleep, so bare with me). The weight is on the fender, while the tie downs/angle of the bed prevent it from moving?

Exactly! I have notched the board to accommodate the tie-down hooks and the bolts that keep the fender in place. It will fit on either side of the trailer. Once it is slid into position the angle of the side of the trailer and the fender prevents it from moving up or down and the springs kind of hold it in position. There are also a couple of pins that I have fabbed from two bolts that when in position prevent the board from being pulled out. I'm looking forward to getting it in the field now that it is painted & stiffened.

That does help. Could you take a few more pictures ?

Direct Field Update!

Hey All,

This update is coming to you direct from MacGregor Point Provincal Park in Ontario. I just thought I would post a couple of pics showing some of the latest updates to the trailer.

A quick summary. Freshly cured paint on the galley table that mounts onto the side of the trailer. Recently purchased Coleman Propane Distribution Tree, 8' hoses & Propane Lantern.
p.s. the antenna is an Icom ah-7000 discone to do some late nite scanning.

Here are some close-ups of the pins that sit in drilled holes in the Galley Table to insure that the table can't pull out during use.

The pin is just a hex head bolt that I cut to 3/4" length (thickness of the plywood). Once the Galley Table is in position the pins are dropped into drilled holes & wont allow the top to be pulled forward. Even without the pins the top is very secure but "an ounce of prevention......."

Enjoy!

The table looks great! Trying to figure out a prep table myself and like your idea! Where do you store it to travel?

Its Spring!!!!!!!

Hey All,

Spring is here & I have just been reminded that our first camping trip is a mere 6 weeks away. On the list for the Trailer this year is to weld a 2" hitch receiver on to the back of the Trailer to hold a bike rack. Relocate the license plate with a lighted mount to be MTO/DOT compliant. Tailgate mod. Pics & thread entries to follow as progress is made...stay tuned.

I think I need a bigger truck!
I added a 2" receiver hitch to my trailer this past summer. 24" receiver tube on sale from Princess Auto (like $15 bucks), 2 pieces of flat plate, 4 welds, 5 fat stainless bolts. done.Hardest part, cutting the holes!! lol

I still need to add a light to the license plate. Thanks for the reminder!!

Hey All,

Here are some pix of bits I have had fabricated. I will be replacing the tongue foot with an adjustable wheel.

I also relocated my License plate. I used a product called "Plate Saver" by EHRMAN INDUSTRIES. I ordered it thru Amazon. It mounts to the same bolts as the taillight.

This leaves the back clear for the tailgate mod. Stay tuned...

Hello All,

It is a tough decision but this trailer is going up for sale. I live in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada and would love to see this go to an overlander. We are moving to a camping trailer so this on has to go. Sales info will follow. Please post if there is any interest.

Adventurer, eh?
Have you posted this on any of the Facebook groups? Overland Canada? I could share it to the Overland Quebec group, I think I remember someone or a few people looking for one.
