I have never heard of a ceramic coating for the inside of a vehicle. I can't wait to see that. Will it go over the seam sealer.

time to spend a minute on this...
fun fact, the 73-79 trans cover is not in any way the same as the 80 up.

guess that means I need to buy an older one too

it did take some doing to get the piece ready to be a donor

then more fitting

and there we go

and the other side
tQelrx0h.jpg

weld tomorrow.... I hesitated because I haven't decided how nice I want it. It's likely this will be behind a carpet panel but it needs to be sealed (the why I'm doing this).... hopefully by the end of Christmas I'll have the bolt on parts at the powder coating shop to epoxy primer it. Sorry Cap, no pre-rusting for me.

and where we are in the process.... coat the inside, undercoat, finish the body work and then paint.

And ADD on full display... thought you might be interested

Langmuir cnc plasma
I bought this years ago (2015 ish) never really used it because I rarely copy parts.... and it is kind of time consuming for one-offs. With that said, it also didn't have a Z-axis control - which leads to a challenge getting parts to look good as the plasma varies in height over the material. ... my wife has some parts that need to be cut out, so it was a good 'excuse' to get it updated.... so here we go.....
mostly it's been a computer stand
MxZQUVYh.jpg

out with the old
Rc03LvXh.jpg

but given how 'old' it is, they sent an entire, new computer... which also means I have an x/y axis control (read mill) that is now homeless
keX75lQh.jpg

as with anything else, break every warranty... this time, the Z-axis parts need to be installed in the new controller
qzybBX0h.jpg

as an aside, it's amazing how close I got to making one from scratch.... all the parts inside I know and know what they do....
you can tell that it's replaced because it's less dusty
vC5WoXWh.jpg

need to run it in, but ready to go

While I'm waiting for parts for the other projects (including for the plasma table)... time to straighten up the rear flares

cut more
ZzQZ4m4h.jpg

and realize there's probably a lot of bondo behind this point... so now I feel just fine about chopping it up

straightened up

I still haven't decided on the gas door - whether I'll just notch it or put a different style door on it...
aXq9HJ1h.jpg

so I just removed it

Notch the door, keep the piece and add it to the original panel, blend it and call it done. Progress looks great!
that probably is the avenue I'm going to take... it also costs the least

so took lots of pictures today of the Blazer... for whatever reason the camera said 'no'.... I did get a nice picture of the rolling parts stand I built..
X8jdVfIh.jpg

pictures later, but pulled the right fender off then welded on the exhaust. I have a couple leaks that need fixing.... so fender off is easier.. once that's done, then inner fender goes in for permanent and I'll strengthen the cut outs then get them powder coated.

got my ps pump today. I loathe having to buy parts when the reason I need to buy them is because I dropped the last one....
kAIfkwc.jpg

the bent pump is draining so it should only be half full on Sunday when I change it.

hopefully this week, I can figure out the fuel leak.... once that's done, I can focus on interior and rough in the exterior fixes.... I may drive it a bit before I paint it.... or I should say paint the exterior.

Really appreciate Team Plus - did a zoom call with him to figure out some programming issues. Zoom call with someone in Australia.
so once the programming was done, clean spots to glue the sensors in place...
vuoKY1ph.jpg

test
Uwy3Lldh.jpg

then not use those spots... and run the power wire inside.
84boanCh.jpg

pretty sure I'll glue them in place then seal the holes... I could make them removeable but putting a screw on top of a tire just seems dumb

then envisioning for the reservoir
7WPBlych.jpg

not a lot of spare room. I still have to put a breather in place

in other news, I'm still waiting for several parts - and Sunday will be quite booked

Any real mechanic has been there. It does suck. I dropped a transmission once and broke the bell housing. It wasn't a removable one.

Lol... I've done that! Powerglide, and I still have it. Luckily when it's needed I can cut off the bell housing and they make bolt on SFI housings I can put in its place.
