K6OAU (OAUSA) will be running a number of stations during the ARRL Field Day event which runs 24 hours through June 25 and 26th. It's being held at the Coon Creek Cabin Group Camp in the San Bernardino Mtns. (Big Bear area).

We will begin erecting the antennas early on Friday the 24th. The goal is to have 3-4 stations fired up on different HF bands for the event that begins the next day (Sat.). This night (Fri.) we'll play some DX and see what contacts we can make around the globe. We're looking for participants in the overall event, but also for operating teams to cover shifts through the full 24 hours. If you've never spent time on HF, this is the event to participate in.....we'll make it easy for ya'.

Additionally radio related, there will be a testing session held that weekend for anyone interested in upgrading or getting that first license. We can accomodate testing for all license classes. So, get your nose in a book dammit!:coffeedrink:
Oh yeah, there will be a buncha' trail runs and other nonsense as well:safari-rig:
So come on up!!
Here's more info on the overall event:

Bump......We need volunteer operators

Bumpty.
Our Field Day event is shaping up to be good one and we're still needing some volunteer operators from all license classes.
It'd be cool to meet some of the hams from this site. And, you'll get a chance to see a couple of methods for putting a backcountry HF station on the air. If you live in the So Cal area and you've got no plans for Field Day or for that weekend.......come on up and say hello.
For those outside the area....boot up the radio on that weekend and hunt us down. We'll have stations on 15m, 20m, 40m, and 80m.

Now that sounds like a Field Day I could get into. The ones around here are largely just setting up in a park and working different stations. I guess it depends on the type of HAMS running it. The guys here are more like the stereotypical ham "geeks" as opposed to outdoor types such as found on this board.

Good luck and enjoy.
