Tell that to Ram's engineers because on 4th gen 1500s the shock is the limiting factor by design. That's not an opinion it's how it they're made

That doesn't make it smart. It's because most trucks will never see the limits of travel and Ram knows that.

Start lifting or stuffing a tire all the time and see how long a shock lasts being used as a travel limiter. You can have your opinion all you want. Shocks break when you use them as travel limiters. That's a fact.

I'm not entirely sure what flavor of chip is on your shoulder but I didn't come here to get in an argument. I stated how the machine is built - not an opinion - and if you don't like it that's between you and Ram, not me.

No chip. I just don't want some uninformed reader to assume it's ok to use shocks as travel limiting devices. My apologies if you interpreted my reply as harsh.
