Thoughts on a Palomino Real-Lite SS-1608

Any feedback on this camper? I'd be putting in a 07 SWB cummins RAM 4x4. The little info I can find on the bronco series is they have back door problems, which I'm guessing the real-lite doesn't? Any comments on build quality and longevity?

This is the one I was considering.

I know these aren't the best campers but I must have a bathroom and shower for the wife so for the price range they can't be beat. I'm not going to see any huge offroading, just fire roads and general camping and exploring.

Thanks!

Wow--that's a beautiful camper! The price seems really decent. At first I was thinking it was a bit high but then I saw it was new... :Wow1:

I off-road with a wood-construction, 23-year-old pop-up and never had any durability problems. I don't think the aluminum frame is a necessity for exploring. Also, the constructed area above the door is a definite plus over a full-height door for integrity. I would be careful not to overload those overhead cabinets--those would be my biggest concern. It looks really luxurious and comfortable and the factory support should add peace-of-mind for any possible problems that could arise.

Go for it!
I started off with a 1987 Palomino Bronco and used it pretty extensively. I wanted an updated camper and better quality, so I went with the Northstar.
One thing that was nice on the Bronco was the full size door for entering and exiting. The negative is that they don't seal well. I like that Palominno has changed the door. A friend had a newer Bronco (2007?) with the full door and installed a fantastic fan. Because the door and the velcro fastening of the vinyl pop-up material doesn't seal well, the fantastic fan did not work correctly to aid in bringing in the vinyl material when lowering the roof.
My camping is very similar to yours and occasionally go on some rough roads. You won't have any problems with a wooden frame. BTW - aluminum fatigues after prolonged flexing.

Ya the back door issues are why I was looking at the real-lite. Anyone know what the other differences are?
