I respect your opinion here; however, we will have to agree to disagree. First, historically, government entities do a rather piss poor job of regulating and disciplining themselves. Second, the public has a right to know - that is a fact proven by the Supreme Court. Third, nothing like a public outcry to really motivate actual action.

I totally hear you, however I am thinking of the majority of good people who work for this department who risk their lives everyday, selflessly, to help people. They deserve respect and admiration for what they do. We all know that the media does not report facts, they spin the story to look as bad as they possibly can. This will make the entire department look very bad. I am not saying dont report it to the media, I am just saying give the department a chance to enact their own discipline first. That way, if and when it does come out, the department has had a chance to do what is right. It is up to them whether they do it or not.
