Tilt bed for cabover camper

Dead Air

On a side note:

DHackney - I am pretty sure you have considered this or tried it but just in case you haven't; air foils (for lack of a better term) have been used to compensate for the dead air space at the back of vehicles and the accumulation of dirt, dust, and silt there.

It is essentially something to direct the air down the back, or from the sides accross the back, or both at the same time, as the vehicle moves forward -- creating enough air flow accross the back to prevent anything from settling there.

In some situations I would imagine they are useless. And I don't know that they would ever be 100% effective. However, they have been used for as long as I can remember, because they do help. Something to consider if you haven't.

And if you have tried an air foil of some type, how did that work out?

I seem to remember reading of problems with dirt on the back of your rig.

We did not add an airfoil of any type to the rear of the camper to attempt to mitigate the dust/dirt/mud challenges of a rear entry.

A rear entry is an issue in unpaved environments. We travel in developing countries on mostly unpaved roads, so it's a daily challenge for us.

A side entry is highly recommended for an overland expedition vehicle.
