Im torn,

I dont care so much for "LOOKS"

But the cab in my land rover COULD use a little help with temperature,
However, offroading, camping at night, its nice to be able to see out the windows.

What do yall think?

i vote tint.. it gives more privacy and also security. have you ever seen what a window looks like that has been smashed that had tint on it. it holds up pretty good. and keeps roving eyes away.

Do a search if you want a little more info. Some like the look and some don't. It gets to be around 110 where I am so I did it for myself and my family to be more comfortable and I don't mind the look.

I prefer some tinting but not the limo version. Been out in the woods in vehicles with dark tint and it makes it very hard to avoid trees and such at night. Rolling windows down does help but not always practical in a rain storm etc.

Are you traveling to the local park or around the world?

We travel all over North and Central America and have limo tint on every window which is legally permitted to be tinted where the vehicle is registered. This is primarily for security. If the thieves can't see it they don't know if you have it and they MAY not break in. In other places it might make car jackers think twice because they don't know who's in the vehicle or even how many folks might be there.

Does it make it tougher to see out at night? Absolutely! Those who have traveled outside of the USA/Canada know that night travel is NOT recommended so it's really not a big deal for me.

If your expedition is the local state park it's probably not necessary.

I tint to the max for the reasons mentioned. Just don't do any mirror tints, if those are still available.
Perhaps install exterior lights on the side and back? Useful for parking and setting up too. Doesn't have to be expensive.

I've seen retractable sun shades on vehicles, usually deployed on the rear window, but also the rear side windows. Perhaps that's a solution for you.

Personally, I don't care for tinting. Too hard to see out at night. If I lived in a hotter climate or did extended visits to Hell, I could see the value in tinting.

I vote tint all the way.

We travelled for a while without tint, and when the heat kicked in, I caved and went for the tint. Verdict: Night and day (no pun intended). Hands down tint, in fact I wish I would have opted for the limo tint.

Good luck

Here on the surface of the sun (AZ) tint is a necessity.:Wow1:

I have 15% on the front windows and 5% on the rest.

Love it. :wings:

Keeps the vehicle much cooler in the summer.
Doesn't feel like the sun is cooking you through the side windows while driving either.

Yes, it does hinder night travel, but I don't travel at night so no big deal for me...

I love ours on the 62. I went with the legal limit on the front doors, and limo on the side doors and cargo windows. The back glass is lighter than limo but darker than the fronts. I did that to make seeing out the back a little easier. If I was doing it again, I'd put the limo on the back glass, too.

Tint for certain. Another AZ native here, and it is a must. Also, when you tint for heat reduction, make sure you get metalized film, the good stuff. That will significantly reduce temps. I think they now have a ceramic laced tint too, pricey, but worth it's weight. I have tint on my 4Runner from the factory, but I want to do the good stuff to enhance it even more.

I've had 3 XJs and the first 2 had 15 % I had this w/o tint and I can't stand it. the next mod is limo tint. security and heat is why! Like everyone said if you can't see in you don't know whats there. :smiley_drive:

I have 10% all the way around on my truck, during the day its great... at night backing up a trailer can be a bit of a pain... but I feel its worth it.
