Wife's 1988 FJ62.

I put some new 31-10.50-15 BFG AT/KOs on it when we got it earlier this year with the black wagon wheels.

I now also have a set of 6 of the factory chrome wheels.

There is a guy at work that is selling me a set of 4 studded Cooper Discoverer S/Ts in 31-10.50-15 that are on a set of 6 lug white wagon wheels.

What would you run which tires with?

I had white wagons on my 62, and painted them black before installing new tires. I used hammercoat by Rustoleum, and think it looks...ok. I chose this route because A) I'm cheap, and B) I was having trouble finding an affordable alternative with the correct backset.

I like the look of your truck with black rims, or I might have voted for the stock chrome ones...

Aesthetically speaking, I'd say put the AT's on the chrome stockers for the summer, put the studded tires on the black wheels for the winter, and sell the white wheels.

OR...

put the AT's on the chrome stockers for the summer, slap the white wheels and studded tires on it in the winter, and buy a set of MT's for the black wheels for wheelin'.

I'd paint all the wheels black, and have a set of each...AT for summer, studded for winter, and buy a set of 33" MT for offroad.

I'd also paint the chrome bumper, and grill trim, black.

I like that Idea. I just found out that the tires and wheels are not mounted.

Another option could involve a set of 16" split rims that are also in the shed.

aesthetically, go with stock chrome rims!

Why not just put the BFG's on the chrome stockers and forget it. This will look the best and perform well in all conditions including snow.

We get a lot of ice and packed snow that the studs will perform best on.

I'm really leaning toward putting the "Summer tires" (BFGs) on the stocker chromies because those are the ones that I actually have a spare wheel to match and I can do a 5 tire rotation when the studs aren't on. The Coopers, I don't know. I may leave that to the boss to decide which wheels those go on....

I second this plan.
