The build of the trailer is underway and I'm excited about seeing it completed.
Photos of a similar trailer to the one I'm having built, along with the roof top tent and other accessories, can be found here...

I've received an email from Robert Shepherd of Outlander Trailers and this is what he's working on...
1. 4400lb Dexter tube axle
2. Axle sprung to 3500lb with leaf springs
3. Coil over shocks with an additional capacity of around 750 pounds, making the GVWR 1800 to 2000lb. (Based on typical loads for this trailer). Therefore, I will be carrying only around 40% to 50% of capacity, which is ideal.
4. Tires and hub pattern to match tow vehicle. This allows the deletion of the spare on the vehicle giving a significant weight savings.
5. "Lock & Roll" multi axis coupler
6. Electric brakes. A digital brake controller will be mounted in the cab.
7. Manual parking brake. This allows the ability to disconnect the trailer on slopes without the need to chock the wheels.
8. 7 pole round electrical connector
He has asked me about the following items based on information I provided him with in an earlier email.
________________________________________________________________
1. You stated you needed to carry tables. We have an option to carry tables. This gets an awkward item into a dedicated storage space. Mombasa will have a new table by late September. We are planning to use these on other trailers. If they work well we will use them on your trailer. 2' x 4' works perfectly stored in the front cargo area. The area can store 2.
2. You can mount the freezer/refrigerator on the trailer easily. However, you will need a compressed air source to blow the trail dust out of the coils occasionally. We will use our full 12VDC auxiliary electrical system which consists of the following:
Two AGM batteries
Automatic 110VAC battery charger
Battery separator...this disconnects the trailer bank from the vehicle bank even when the trailer is connected and the engine is off. It also controls the charge to the trailer bank from the alternator.
Battery selector switch...allows selection of battery one, battery two, or both.
Distribution Panel
300w True sine wave inverter with USB charging port. Electronics like computers, cameras, etc. can be damaged by charging with a modified sine wave inverter.
One circuit will be run into the tent so you can run lights and a fan.
LED task lighting around the sides and rear of the trailer.
The refrigerator will run off of this system allowing it to continue cooling if it is sitting somewhere disconnected from the Jeep.
We will go ahead and add the solar charging option also.
3. What about an awning on one side. Again, Mombasa will have these available by the end of this month and we are planning to use them on other trailers.
4. Do you need water storage capability?

So, he's working on all those things at the moment. I'll get in touch with him soon and see if he can shoot me some teaser pictures to post here for you all.
