Tires for JKU Sahara

Crossfaced

Observer
I'm replacing the tires on my 2014 jku Sahara. It has a 2.5 Terraflex lift. I've decided on Cooper ST Maxx. I'd like to go to 295/70 r18 if possible. On the Cooper website it says the 295s approved rim width is 7.5-10 but then is says the Measured Rim width is 8.5. This confuses me.

Is the stock Sahara rim at 7.5 adequate for a 295/70 or should I go with a 275/70 tire?

If needed I'm ok with getting spacers for the rim.

Thanks for the help...

If cooper lists an approved width then any rim in that range will work. The measured rim width is giving the measurements of the tire on the specific rim width, in this case 8.5. Tire may measure differently when mounted on any other size rim.
