Titan Tanks Trail Trekker II

Just curious if anyone here has any firsthand experience with this product.

I am looking to add it to my MaxGear rear bumper as I really would like more range ( in addition to my two 5 gal MFCs. I am also looking at doing PhullD's aux tank mod. The reason being, with a supercharged VK on 35s, my MPGs ain't great lol

I looked at the photos and noticed they show an Xterra with it mounted and thought someone might know whose X this is. I also spoke with Maxterra Dave and he said that his rear bumper and Shrocks are pretty similar so should work. There aren't many rear bumper options other than Shrock, MaxGear, Hefty and Hardcore from what I recall.

No experience with the tank, but from the pictures it seems like it pushes the spare tire out even further, depending on the 35's you have this can be a lot of weight being pushed out and creating a huge amount of leverage. I would say make sure your spare tire mounting system has at least 3 points of contact instead of just 2.

Also, that CB Antenna mount I believe is the worst design I have ever seen, that stupid loop that wraps under the bumper is just begging to be ripped off by a rock or tree trunk which would then damage the tail light, quarter panel and possibly more.

I have one on my Jeep, it is a great product but it definitely makes the tire stick out further. I have it on a Aev carrier and have had no issues. The road chose me/Dan had one on his Jeep and drove around Africa with no issues.

Good to hear! I talked to Dan at Titan and showed him some photos of my setup and he said that would work just fine. Yes, it may push it out a bit further but my carrier slides in/out as needed. Of course, it's better to have it tucked in as much as possible. I'll be sure to report back next month when I do the install. I'll be swinging by there on my way back to Bozeman. Looking forward to having more range. I think the capacity is 14 or 15 gal but they recommend 12 gallons to accommodate for expansion. So, I effectively double my range with this and my MFCs. Now for that aux tank mod! ?20210111_113853.jpg20210111_113857.jpg20210111_113950.jpg20210111_114002.jpg

Yeah, that design looks like it's just asking for trouble.

As for the weight of the wheel/tire combo, it's 99# add the fuel and it adds up to 175#

Post 67 shows how I modified mine for more ease of transfer. The pictured one is aev but I did the same to the titan.
