TJ Unlimited Soft Top

Does the soft top on a TJ Unlimited rely on the factory roll bars for support?

If you did a custom cage would you still be able to use the factory soft top?

the frame for the soft top connects to the rollbar, but tabs could be built on a custom one. the front door surrounds attach to the bars between the main hoop and the windshield, so your custom roll cage would have to have bars in the same spot to make the door surrounds work.

Sort of... a bracket mounts on the main hoop about 2/3rds the way up for the rear bow and the door surrounds mount to the bar coming forward to the windshield. Nothing is mounted from the main hoop back.

Many after-market cages allow for this and if you are having a custom one made, it should be easy to incorporate this in the build. The brackets on the main hoop are bolt on and the unlimited top requires door frames for a factory sunrider.

Ditch the soft top as everything is getting covered in dust and your zippers will fail regardless of how much you clean them.
