To scrap or not?

I bought an '86 Cherokee w/ the 4 popper about a month ago (against my better judgment) and blew the engine over the weekend. The 4 wheel drive wasn't working which i think needs a transfer case and the crappy vacuum activator replaced to fix it. I have thought about doing a Chevy 350 engine swap but is it worth the time/money/hassle? Would probly need to do an axle swap to get away from the crappy vacuum stuff. Do the swap and build it or scrap the whole thing?

As the owner of a 1988 Cherokee with 300,000 miles, who loves his old iron, I gotta tell ya, this one is scrap. Just ain't worth it. Go find a better one.

Haha!! I love you guys! I think I already knew the answer... SCRAP IT!!!!!!

Ok, thanks, just making sure I wasn't pulling the trigger too fast, but scrap seems the best option. Buying a nice 6cyl. wrangler this week anyways so I'm not tore up.:victory:

If you want it gone, I would advertise "First 200 bucks and trailer takes this beauty home".
If you're not willing to part it out, there's lots of guys out there that would be happy to take it off your hands.
Remember, other than the engine adn tranny, the rest of the vehicle will cross over directly to other model years.

I know a few people who wheel XJ's and they refer to them as "diapers". Citing: "You wheel them till they are messed up, then ya change them"

They are so cheap and plentiful you just swap your good parts over to the new one and then scrap them.
