like your thread and the car(s) as well.
I know you have been asked the same question many times, but would you mind to you give us a reason for switching from the 4Runner to TLC200?
Did you find the the 4Runner less comfortable, less off-road worthy, etc?
I am considering the either cars but I need to do a good research before committing to these cars.
Thank you!
Hey thanks for the compliments.
The 4Runner is plenty comfortable and extremely capable, a very nimble vehicle, I loved mine and was intending to keep it until the wheels fell off....... (check out the build thread on that one and the places it took me)
Why the switch? it wasn't planned at all, the Land Cruiser has been my all time dream car ever since I can remember ..... I just happen to have come across a good deal and timing was just right, I had just returned from one of my usual trips out west and while burning time during schedule maintenance I waltzed through the dealer and it happened.
Now why did I actually pull the trigger? yes first things first... BIGGER, nicer, much more luxury, a God Send Engine (V8 5.7L with a 6 speed trans versus 5 in the 4R), and the ridiculous amount of technologies and trinkets like: 360 degree cameras, adaptive cruise control (helps on my long trips), heated front and rear seats (for the kids in winter), independent AC (multi-zone), KDSS (not a biggie for me but nice), that lovely tailgate, cool box (center console), and much more....... finally the deal that was struck was hard to not go for it.
So it you have the extra $35k+ and all these things get your attention and are worth it to you I'd say go for the cruiser..... if you still want a plenty capable, plenty comfortable ride that will last a life time but don't want to drop the money on the LC then go with the 4Runner, plenty of aftermarket options for it and safe. If I could have kept mine I would have.
