Top Bunk roof top tent

Does anyone have a Top Bunk RTT? I like that it's made in the U.S.A., and offered with an optional six-inch thick mattress. You can also remove the tent walls and use the shell as a large rooftop cargo box.

I don't believe the units currently have the rear opening the way it shows in your picture

I have not owned one but have seen the one in the above pic while at Top Bunk USA. I have owned a Columbus for a short time. The Columbus was about 9 years old and I do not know what has changed over the years.

From My knowledge the Top Bunk molds are made right in Commerce City Colorado, sewing done in Missouri and complete assembly done in Drake Colorado.

Some things I noticed on the Top Bunk vs my 9 year old Columbus
- much nicer hardware (hinges and latches)
- Tent material "appears" to be more durable
- Top mold on my columbus was warped. Seemed much thinner than the top bunk
- the top bunk has a "bunjee" cord that holds the tent material in when closing.

My current plan is to install a Top Bunk on my 4runner project but it's at the bottom of my modification list currently. Lift, Tires, Bumper etc come first.

One benefit of the Top Bunk, well it's more about the owner of Top Bunk, is the flexibility of design. If you want something different just call Derek and he'll work it out.
