Yeah it was a good crossing and a good recovery. Thanks
One of these day I will have to list out my build.
It gets alot of questions, but I felt that there was enough build threads already so i keep to myself about it. The truck doesnt even look the same anymore from that video.
Im headed back there agian real soon and I hope the water will be a bit lower I dont want to be in that situation agian.

I love water crossings, but one gotta be carefull - that swift current looked pretty crazy. I had water current move my truck before too, but only maybe a couple feet and even that felt super scatchy! Anyway, I am sure you know what you are doing...

Looks like others have taken to posting up for me a couple times now. I will get some photos up. The real changes have been in the bed design witch is still being finished after I designed and built a new rack.
Im getting the storage area in the bed custom built and It no longer has the canvas topper. But yes photos I will get.

No worries Bill, its cool,
And Michael- there are no shallow sections so we have to go when the flow is low!
As for my bumper its Kennesaw MTNs protoype, the first 2nd gen Tacoma design, not that there is a second design its just the first one Kyle ever built, and its very hit and miss. the lines are nice but the mount to the frame leaves something to be desired. we did improve the design and it works better as far as the bumper not flexing as much as it did but still the "wings" flex alot, the winch box is bomber though.
All in all for me its fine cause I can weld and work in a shop.
So I have made a few inprovements as to how i would have built it. If you end up getting a bumper from K.M.A, be very specific with Kyle and have patients. He can build what ever you want just make sure he understands you.
We designed my rear together and I welded it and its the nicest rear 2nd gen Ive seen. Its all in the origanal design.
There are allot of haters and lovers for his stuff.
But I do like my rear dual spare bumper better than the front.

You're back bumper is about perfect for your use; the dual spare is great for overlanding and hot-shot activities.
Someday I want one with a tire/jerry can/rack combo. If I swap my trailer axle, I can run the same rubber as the Jeep and net 2 spares as well.

Wow, man talk about pucker factor there for a minute. ANd good on ya for cleaning up/repairing the riverbank mate, that's an oft overlooked bit about what we do that leads to land closures ;)

Oh and onece again.. I LOVE YOUT TACO. from a looks standpoint alone I think it is just awesome, let alone what's under the skin.

Cheers

Yeah thanks man, I always wanted a first gen and I was jonesing for a Toyota 4x4 when I got back form Australia and a friend on mine dropped this girl in my lap for REAL cheap. Years later and I still smile every time I get in and drive off in her.

I've said it before mate, I love your build... :smiley_drive:

I sent you a PM with my background, cause I didn't want to get to OT hgere in your thread.

It's so funny how alot of us in the rescue/FF/Military/Forestry/EMS etc... world gravitated to this site eh. I realy hope to get to meet some folks here in the future cause I am just amazed at all teh cool backgrounds and stories everyone brings to the table.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. The only way it could be better is if we were all sitting around a big fire somewhere far away from the rest of the world discussing everything here over beers :victory: :victory:

So where are you stationed? That's awesome that you got a Forest Service gig, that sounds really great and I would love to be out in the woods that much. Hard work for sure, but man to be out among the trees in places where alot of folks have never been just sounds like heaven...

Cheers

Dave

i certainly hope it's low if this is the trail we're taking at the end of the month...

i don't think the rover's electronics--and definitely not my pocketbook-- are up for the water damage...
