Let me be the first one :victory:

The weather finally was friendly enough to gather my gear and get my tourer up and rolling.
My bike is based on a handmade aluminum frame, rock shox juddy suspension fork, Tubus rear rack, Faiv front rack, Shimano XT derailer, disc in the front and V in the back... Pretty straight forward. This bike already traveled through most of the southern US, most of Canada and parts of europe.

Anyhow, yesterday morning I set off from my home town (victoria, BC Canada). My destination was 51km away on Salt Spring Island. After 36 flat (off traffic) kilometers, I hopped on the ferry (45 minute crossing) to do the last 12km of rolling but steep hills to Ruckle Prov. Park. I call myself very lucky to be so close to that ocean front, walk in only, campground. I have seen many camps in the past... but this one is clearly within the top 10!

Got up at 6.30 this morning, had a quick bite to eat, broke camp and headed back to the ferry terminal to grab a proper breakfast at a close by restaurant--fuel for the day.

The temperatures were hovering around freezing at night but I was nice and toasty in my tent and bag....

Cheers,
Andreas

Surly crosscheck. Pics a couple of years old. It currently has some 29 x 1.75 tires and totally different handlebar/shifter settup.
