Toyota 4Runner still drives after being crushed by tree

Well technically that's right, but this is a forum. So we need 20 people to argue over which spec level and year the 4runner. Then 14 to argue over what sort of tree it is and then 20 more argue over whether that tree actually grows in that neck of the woods. Finally everyone agrees on a tree and spec etc of the vehicle. But then 2 years later someone grave digs the thread and says it was their neighbours, sister's, dog walkers ex girlfriends flat mate knows the guy and it's definetly not a 4runner and it was a maple.

haha, that's about right but Carl @ Just differentials is my bro in law and really who cares about what type of wood it was the thing was over 100 feet tall.... also try having a day like that and try to remember what type of wood it was that crushed your truck, we had to hike out to the main road and once there had to remove a few more fallen trees before we could even get into town and back to the truck to get the one that crushed it off, and further more by the time i drove the truck back into town , was waiting at the bar for AAA , and had the old logging man told me what type of wood it was i had "had a few" so hickory, hemlock meh....same difference, the whole truck bounced a foot or so off the ground after the initial impact i don't think the type of wood really makes a difference when your talking about that size of tree....and the pic above is a little girly tree compared to mine, lol ;-)

either way take it for what you will,i'm not making any claims here (except to allstate!), it was a crazy experience whether it be hemlock, hickory or it should have driven or not, i can just say i wouldn't care to go through that again ...anyways, i'll go back to lurking around here until something else like this happens or i get my truck back together and update my build thread...haha

Seriously, I'm sorry about your truck and I'm glad nobody was hurt. You've got a story that will last a lifetime.

I would be interested in both the cup holders if they're not broken?

hey thanks man! me too! really scary and odd that i happened to get a pic just as the girl was coming down the hill with the wood not a few seconds before, the camera was acting funny so i was playing with it, lol.

as for the cup holders front or back, i got the fronts, but the back got broken a while ago, if i understand correctly you can pull the same ones off a 2001 corolla should work as well and are alot more plentiful in junkyards then our trucks, this is pulling from an old memory though so double check that, but it should work...(for the backs)

Thanks for the tip on the cup holders. I thought it was ironic that she was hauling fire wood past The tree. Little did you know how much fire wood you would have be the end of the trip.

I need both, so fronts would work. My front cup holders still work but the pass. side doesn't "grip" the smaller cups.
