Toyota Tacoma Cad Group buy?

Ok as some of you saw I was looking for a nice cad model of a Toyota Tacoma 2nd gen double cab. I wanted something I can use to mock up real designs both for visual and mechanical inspection (before building the designs in real life) Some here thought this would not be possible but I have gathered the frame specs and have located a cad agency that would be willing to do this for $450. (this is really cheap considering) They already have the Tacoma modeled but would be doing the frame and creating what is called a chassis model where you can remove the bed and the frame and components will be available underneath. Attached is the Cad model of the Tacoma as well as an example of a Cad Chassis model they have done previously. The standard Tacoma model is $75 I am looking to share the cost of the development of the chassis model with anyone whos interested.

Not doubting what you're saying, but that is an amazingly low price for that amount of work. I work for an engineering / consulting firm and do CAD work daily, and there's no way we would even consider that kind of project for less than several thousand dollars. Nice find on that company.

A couple tips - I would make very sure you have a clear, specific list of their deliverables when the project is complete, including a list of the vehicle's features that are to be included in the CAD models (i.e. frame, leaf springs, control arms, etc), signed off by someone from their company. I would also define an acceptable tolerance on the measurements they take on the vehicle. Obviously you'll need something giving you full rights to use the models for whatever uses you choose, freeing you from owing them any royalties should you choose to commercialize products that you design based on their models, and preventing them from making any claims to the models or your designs as their intellectual property.
