Traction Concepts LSD Conversion

They have one for a Starion which I believe is interchangeable with the front. Starion LSD Kit link

I emailed them and here's the response:
"It is probable that we have the LSD Conversion for the front diff; however this request is going to require a bit more details and possibly confirmation of diff dimensions from your side."

I told them it's an 8" and should be the same as the 88/89 Starion but need confirmation. I didn't have any further information to send them. They are researching it now.

Those diff blocks are a hoax, there are no actual friction surfaces. Personally I would go on Ebay and buy a Russian Torsen unit or do the actual Star swap.
If you use 4wd on the street at all, go Torsen. if only used offroad use the Starion. With the Starion diff always do the plate flip to get the most engagement.

Thanks Charlie - I've had no luck finding a Starion diff or anyone that has tried the traction concepts hoax. I haven't heard of the Torsen. Do you have experience with them?

Yes, the torsen diffs are all gear, no clutches. The are great in the front when cornering, they do not yank the wheel our of your hands. Look at names like Torsen, Tru trac and others. As stated I have one of the Russian front diffs here for my Pajero build, the machining and quality is superb. I am waiting till I lock down on what ratio I want to run first. Sales are more common in NZ and AUS. People over here seen afraid. Kind of stupid and unjust. Mine was a bit over $450 on ebay, got here in under a week.

The torsen is now $600 on ebay. I did find a starion diff. The guy says it's from a 87 but has 28 tooth splines. I thought only 88/89 had the 28 tooth. Anyways with 28 it should work, right? The price is right and it's in excellent condition.

There are two different spline sizes for the 28T, I do not have the tech stuff in reach and not fresh on my mind to explain it properly. In a Starion the 88-89 intercooled diff is stronger & beefier then the 86-87 IC diff. Both are stronger then the Non IC units.
