Trade for 4 wheel drive or install locker

I have a 04 Tundra DC 2wd that I use to for work and to haul my FWC Hawk. I haven't had much chance to overland, but I am looking forward to having more time. (Losing a wife should equal more time.)

I'm regretting not getting 4 wheel drive. Considering option of either selling Tundra DC and getting another one which is a 4x4, or adding a locker to 2wd Tundra and moving winch from Jeep to Tundra for travel (9000 lb Warn).

Looking for some thoughts from you guys. Thanks

Amen. If I could have $1 for every time I've heard that. Definitely get 4x4.
Don't spend a cent "upgrading" a 4x2. Every buck spent is another buck wasted.

If you really want to spend more time overlanding and less time upgrading, I agree with most for now that your best bet would be to trade your current rig for a 4x4.

Then you can limit spending ALL your money on upgrades to it...
