Trail gear vs All Pro front/rear bumpers and sliders.

I could have sworn it was mild steel for TG vs chromoly for AP. Thought that was the reason for the price. I can not find anything on it now. Wrong once again!

Like I said though, I went with the TG ones anyway.

EDIT: it was HREW vs DOM. Couldn't remember which was which then. Could have sworn that the TG sliders were HREW. Maybe they have changed that the last couple of years?

TG being DOM is news to me. When I bought my last set of sliders, TG were HREW so I went with 4x innovations for price. That was a few years ago, though. My AP sliders are definitely not HREW (on my 04).

As for the sliders, AP makes many different styles, including their HD and Expo styles that have very different mounting than what was quoted above. I have the HD on my 10 and have been pleased.

1st and 2nd gen designs are different so it makes sense that the mounting is different.

As for the materials used being news...precisely why I suggested some fact checking earlier. I think people have been making assumptions about TG for a long time. Assumptions that are not correct.

Damn dude. Let it go. Geez.

I have the allpro front and rear bumpers and the trail gear sliders. Love all of it. Held up nice. My rattle can paint job on the rear bumper has held up better than the powder coating on the front bumper.

Not wanting to get in the middle of your debate but just so you have the facts straight about the Longfields. At All-Pro we sell RCV axles, they are the company that made them for Longfield before he died. They are the company that helped Bobby Long build his reputation as the strongest Toyota axles on the planet. Trail gear disrespected the Longfield name IMHO by buying the rights to his name and slapping it on their Chinese dirty 30 axle. Trail gear did not buy the right to the product just the name. So actually you can get the US made RCV 300m Chromoly axles at All-Pro or many other RCV dealers, the only place you can't get them is Trail Gear!
How in all of this did John B's info get ignored???

That is the oak prototype...we are currently testing the black walnut version...release date soon to come!
Cool can't wait. Hopefully it is offered in all sorts of different wood. The nice part is i won't have to worry about firewood anymore. Just need a new bumper before every trip:)

Relax. You're the only one getting worked up over this. I didn't bad mouth AP or anything. I simply posted details directly from both vendors websites that showed that some of the earlier comments weren't completely correct. All I did was point that out. You've got some thin skin.

Irony, party of one. Your table is ready.

If we get a group buy going on...we'll offer different types of wood & various finishes. Paint...stain, perhaps varnish.

For the eco-sensitive types...there will be a reclaimed lumber version. :p
