Trailer ID

Just watch for a David Bradley trailer in CL if you want one like it. "Plowboy" over on IH8mud has one. There was one for sale here near Nashville awhile back that sold for 350.00. and was in good shape.

Thanks for the compliments. My friend and local 4wd shop owner (Justin at Offroad Outfitters in Dawsonville, Ga) has been hard at work getting this thing ready for our camping trip this weekend. Unfortunately, the trip looks like it will be cancelled because of thunderstorms.
The trailer is surprisingly heavy duty. We figured that if it wasn't so well made, it would never have lasted this long. I estimate it to be 40 years old at least, but probably more. The only markings on it were an ID stamped into the tongue near the body that were 3 initials. I think it was J.L.B., and a serial number starting with GA????. Other than that, it has been pretty much a mystery. It appears to be factory made, and not home built. Wheel pattern is 5-5.5.
We wired up some lights/switches and the battery today, and we should be road worthy tomorrow. We also installed the drop down tailgate hardware.
Tomorrow, I have to take it to get inspected.

You are doing really well on the construction of this unit, glad to see someone cares enough to salvage the nearly extinct. Good save. Please keep the pics coming as you progress thru the shroud around the raised section, for the ARB and sink, etc. All the wifes stuff, you know its gonna happen. Good luck and have fun.

Sorry, the paint is not mil spec, the CARC was too hard to come by and expensive. It is a mil spec matched color from Sherwin Williams though. It is the closest thing to Desert Sand they have. I can get you the paint code off the can and the name with the type of paint.

That's the color I'm wanting to repaint my Bantam. What mil-spec paint did you use and where did you source it? Thanks.

Also, the paint you are after is called 'Chemical Agent Resistant Coating" and can be found at some Sherwin Williams dealers. There is only one in the state of GA that has it (that I could find). It is CARC for short, and is the military paint that they use for H1's and military vehicles. Nasty stuff. Good luck.

Fenders are next. After driving it in the rain, it throws a lot of dirty water in the trailer.

I no longer wear sneakers when welding. Everyone should experience a piece of spatter melting through the top of the sneaker and finding it's way between the toes:exclaim:
Well I can't help ID the make of the unit but looks good!

I am still on the hunt for a trailer for my trips planned this summer (most of what I find is junk though)

Really nice looking rack you built for the RTT.

Had you thought about some area lights when you are at camp?

Here's the one I'm running as a backup light:
flood pattern and does a pretty respectable job of lighting things up with it being LED.

Where did you get the black jerry can that has the spout on it? I have never seen anything like it. That looks like the perfect water dispensing solution.

If you look close, you can see the 5 area lights on the bottom of the rack.
