Trailer/Tent combo advice

I and my friends like to elk hunt and have always enjoyed staying in large, wood heated, or propane heated canvas style tents for longer hunts. The other day, I came across a post from a some guys who had converted a cargo trailer into a traveling sauna that he and his buddies take out to the woods or a lake on a winter day, and enjoy outdoor activities as well as a nice warm sauna. This got me to thinking....

I'd like to outfit a cargo trailer to house a bathroom, (and maybe a sauna), a hot water heater, and a storage area to hold the big canvas tent supplies, then put brackets on the side of the trailer that I can attach the canvas tent for support, as well as have access to the inside of the trailer through a side door to get to the bathroom, etc. Also, I think I could create a window in the side of the tent to access a flip out kitchen area that is also part of the trailer. This would also allow my wife and I to go "glamping" if I bought some nice amenities in the storage area of the trailer, ie. a decent bed, some carpets for the floor, some comfortable seating, a table, and of course the wood stove.

Advice?

Although you asked about cargo trailers for camping, I suggest looking through Expedition and Overland Trailers - DIY/Custom for ideas.

Teardropper, forum member, has written a book on tear-drop trailers: https://www.expeditionportal.com/fo...thods-for-crafting-an-heirloom-camper.212402/ There are many good ideas and suggestions in it.

Excellent! Thanks for the advice. Just the kind of thing I was looking for. I had looked through some of the older posts, and found some useful info. The info in this book should really get me started. If there are any other specific posts anyone thinks of, I don't mind the guidance. Thanks again.

You are welcome. Hopefully some other forum members will post thoughts/ideas/suggestions too. Are you aware of the use of bonding tapes and sealants? https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/best-bonding-adhesives.213796/
