Looks like it's time for a Saws-all. I replaced my cam bolts with used OEM, and slathered every mating surface with anti-seize. I kept the original control arms and replaced the bushings. It might just be easier to replace the entire control arm assembly and have the bushings already installed that way.

After you replace I would spray with Fluid Film or something equivalent. I don't envy you!!

Yeah, I don't know yet if it's really seized up. I try to keep everything pretty clean under the truck, but this part looks a bit sketchy. I'm going to grab either a new OEM arm or a used one that includes the cam bolts.

Re-redoing things the third time
It's really misleading but the cam bolt itself doesn't seize, the outer inner sleeve seizes to the inner diameter of the bushing.

I packed the bore of the bushings with marine grease when I rebuilt my arms. I will probably still pull the bolts every 6 months or so and regrease them because it was a royal pain to cut the old ones out. Probably 3 hours and 4-8 blades.

If I had better faith in my fab skills or more tools I would have replaced the whole thing with a grade 8 3/4" bolt and made fixed adjustment plates. Unfortunately for that precision in 1/4" plate I would have needed to get the plates cut on a mill or similar to be comfortable with it.

Something like this that keys into the slot for the bolt and is a fixed distance from the edges.

Last time I had to mess with the lower arms was with my 02 Tundra. I brought it over to Slee Offroad and let them do it along with some other stuff. I had one of those annoying driveline vibrations at the time.

Those plates look like a great idea. It'd be nice if someone picked up on that.

Without measuring, I'm assuming that our alignment tabs are the same size as on the Tacoma. But best to confirm that. So far I haven't had the need for the TC welded tabs....my alignment has stayed in place through some tough terrain. I suppose a hard hit could potentially push the control arm so hard that it folds the alignment tab over? That's what I think has been happening on Tacoma's. Are ours any thicker?

I'm not sure of the differences myself or even if those tabs would have prevented the damage I'm seeing on mine. Here's another shot of it. It's gotten a bit worse as a few shops have messed with it.

Your damage looks like a rock strike, and cam tabs wouldn't have protected from that at all. I don't think there's any armor available that protects the LCA/cam joints on our trucks (except maybe that Marlin Crawler kit??). Once you get the LCA out, you should be able to straighten the bent metal fairly easily. Looks like a bit of torn metal, so maybe a bit of a weld after straightening?

I've spoken with Total Chaos. They DO NOT have a kit that will work for our truck. However, Marlin Crawler has this kit in the works.
I would highly recommend calling just to show interest, last time I talked to them our kit was next. But my plan is to bend the cam tab back straight then install this kit to reinforcement the whole area.

Been sitting around recovering from a bit of scheduled surgery. Also, just turned 40. Haha.

The combination is hard on the bank account.

Decided to bite the bullet on the Archive Garage springs. My truck has been in need of a leaf upgrade since day one.

I knew I could squeeze three panels up there.. :LOL:

I had to open and close the vent several times to check the clearance. There's like 1/8" on the opening side.
