I am throwing together a off road training adventure in moab this May 21st -23rd w/ Bill Burke of BB4WA exclusively for lifted toyota 4x4 vehicles.

However I have had a few folks bail out in the last 2 days and need to fill up the list to make this thing go

if you think you might be interested pop on over to tacomaworld and give the informational thread a looksie

http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/of...ff-road-training-adventure-may-21st-24th.html

this is a 3 day 2 night backcountry 4x4 vehicle experiance in Moab Utah for the more than initated off road driver with Bill Burke's 4 Wheeling America.

The main touch points of this outing will be overcoming obstacles and terrain common to the Moab area, spotting and recovery senarios, the ins and outs of winching and locker use and misuse

heres is the training outline Bill supplied us with for our frist outing that ran mid January 2010 out of superior AZ and Mamoth AZ.

http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/off-roading-trails/75976-bbtworta-moab-training-outline.html

obviously we had to thin it down some.

we are splitting the guide fees equally among all drivers and the absolute limit is 11, I am hoping for 8 or 9 to make the per vehicle charge manageable for everyone and have the group small enough so everyone can get some 1 on 1 with Bill.

PM me with comments commitments or questions here, at TTORA (remmit) or at
TacomaWorld (timmer)

thanks in advance for your interest :victory:

Thanks for your interest

Every effort has been made to secure the best possible outfit to provide this training at the lowest possible price.

This is a private charter. Inasmuch the guide fees are to be split evenly among all participants (myself included) whose payments are received by no later than March 17th 2010 when the reservation Must be sent to BB4WA.

The guide fees for a 3 day 2 night charter are 2800. For 2 days 1 night they are 1875. I have been able to get BB4WA to wave all additional expenses at this time. However the above "fees" include a small $25 charge to cover my incidentals such as Phone calls, certified letters, stamps and misc. office materials.

All persons who elect to join in after the reservations are made (should there be spaces remaining) will also pay the equal share price of the reserving participants. These monies will be split evenly among the reserving participants. who have in effect covered the reservation cost for every one.

This charter will be limited to 11 vehicle drivers and their passengers. Passengers may attend all discussions and learning modules at no extra cost. However class materials will only be provided to the drivers.

If for some reason this charter does not have the required commitments prior to its reservation date of March 21st all monies will be returned in full by mail and the event will be canceled.

Please be aware of the fact that I am also a end user of this training charter and have absolutely no commercial or financial interest in it or in BB4WA. I am only acting to coordinate other end users access to it.
Its successful reservation and implementation lies with the end users.

Basically stated It is a group effort. if there is not enough interest in it and/or an equitable agreement to change it can not be agreed upon prior to the charters reservations being made it will be canceled.

that being stated. here is a link to Bills Website including his resume' as it relates to his work as a backcountry guide and International 4 wheel drive training instructor.

I am some what suprized that a 3 day 2 night backcountry excursion in the arches/canyonlands of utah lead by a former camel trophy driver doesnt appeal to more of you exped types. perhaps I have been remiss in bumping this thread as a reminder. Inasmuch I will do so at this time.

please be aware of the 15% price reduction we have graciously received from Bill and Rachel Burke in an effort to assure this training excursion is affordable for all those who wish to attend it.

Please refer to the above post for links to the informational thread and others which contain images of trips of this nature in the recent past

I can attest to the level of expertise Bill Burke offers, I took one of his trips many years ago. If only I could take time off from work ...

My three week Baja trip cost me less than what you quoted. That may be the reason for the lack of interest. Times are tight out there. Good luck.

I have explored the areas around Moab on backcountry trips on my own with a little bit of research and the right books to guide me. I do not see the need for a guide to show me these areas and if I decided to do Hole in the Rock trail or the other areas there are always groups that post up looking for more travelers on this and other websites that I frequent. The cost and other committments I have at this time have kept me from pursuing this opportunity.
