Yes the breather is on the top of the transmission. Reach from the back of the engine and behind the firewall. There are 2 hoses. The first if the transfer case (1/8") and the transmission breather is a 1/4' hose. If you pull the breather it will come right off. replace with a hose and a 1/4" union (with soap applied to ease it on) back into the hole.

It is hard to reach, but the transmission is a necessity for the Taco & FJ Cruiser. The breather is a 2-way breather that get water ingestion easily.

BTW, Thank Shadow Warrior for the hard work on this one. He taught me how to do it. (Still waiting on sticker though).
