Awesome Write Up

I grew up in Bridgeport and my sister married a Cain, in that church in 1983 (we could not sit down because it was disturb the dust). Thanks for thanking me back home for a while.

Jim, thank you for reviving this old report. Makes me want to head back tomorrow!... it's a great place. Thanks for reading everyone.

Awsome report. Been there and seen all those in the pics myself. I've been lucky, I've been to Bodie twice and will definetly go back.
10 years or so ago after visiting Bodie, I got a wild hare and thought I could head up the 'goat trail' up Bodie Peak. NOT. Some large boulders, very steep, not too sure how I would have turned around on the very steep mountain side and ...no one knew where the kid and I were.
On a nearby peak with a fantastic view of Mono, I lost my ingnitor on my 60 series. No way around that. $500 tow to Lee Vining, $150 tow to Mamoth, $400 for the part plus diagnosis and installation plus motel and food totaled out at around $1300. :Mechanic:
Not a nice way to end a trip. Still, won't forget that trip anytime soon.
Long live Mono County!
