Remember one drawback when using a dual solar/alternator charger like the REDARC or CTEK - total amps do NOT increase, that is, a 20A charger will still only give you 20A. Solar will spare your alternator a bit, but this is usually not that much of an issue.
For all out, best performance with the engine running and the sun shining, you are going to want a separate solar controller AND your alternator, whether through a B2B or directly with a relay.
This observation from one who has a REDARC with solar connected and who has used an intelligent relay system. To be sure, the REDARC, at least, hits its full solar output, but its total output is still limited to 40A, as per spec.
If you can afford the size and cooling, Sterling Products B2B range goes bigger and is more adjustable. The largest REDARC is 40A in a tiny, sealed container that does not need a fan.
Your money, pick the one that best suits your needs.
