I have an 05 Tahoe as well. It does great off-road and in ice and snow. It's a must to disable the stabilitrac or the wheel spin nanny robs all your power. If you don't have the traction control button, 4hi and 4lo will disable it. Any steep hill accents or decents I use 4lo almost every time. The engine in our trucks is almost bullet proof. The transfer case is pretty solid as well. The transmission is what you need to be careful with. Those 4L60e transmissions hate anything other than basic daily driving. I had the factory temp guage installed in the cluster, as soon as I bought mine, just to always keep an eye on trans temps. Just throw it in neutral and hit the 4low button anytime you might need to pull a steep hill, at slow speeds. Your transmission and torque converter will thank you.
