Truck Camper Shell That Fits Dirt Bike

What / where is the 4x4 reinforcement option you listed at? Thanks for the post this exactly what I want except white.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, wasn't hawking this forum and didn't get any alerts. I recently sold the truck/camper, so I can't take pics of the little reinforcement gussets they installed in the corners. It was just flat aluminum bar welded at 45s in the corners. Seemed worth while for long term use and flexing off-road.

OK, I give up, how did you get your bike to stand up for this picture?

I left it in gear and just leaned it against the door :-). Lot less scary loading a bike in a lifted truck when you have the security of a wall/door close to you that you can grab and/or lean the bike on if you need to regroup vs. a tailgate. And you can step from a stool to the bumper.....don't have to go all the way to bed/tailgate height all at once.

I bit the bullet and sold my Ram 2500 short bed and just ordered a F350 Super Cab Long Bed. I'm considering the next camper. Short list....I want a pop up truck camper and I want barn doors. Hiatus is cool, but it is more money than I want to spend (about $30K for my specs) and I don't like that you can't leave your bedding in place. I talked with Bison on a custom build, he will do it and I like him/his campers...but he no longer builds pop up campers. I did check out Radica, I hadn't seen the MLX version with the small storage over the cab, that looks way better and is super useful. Pros and Cons to that camper but I don't think I want a camper I can't easily sleep in while the bike is inside. I contacted GFC to see if he would build a plus size that a bike could fit in, no can do. Phoenix will build you whatever you want with a camper/screen door in the middle of rear hatch that also can completely open up, but you won't know what it looks like till you are done, that is hard to swallow. OVRLND is a little too utilitarian looking for me? Project M....I like a lot of things about it. I don't like not having barn doors. And the 13" shelf seems in the way a lot (I can't find anyone on line that cut that shelf down....I think I would?). And I don't like how rigid FWC is on manufacturing. I contacted them to see if they would build a Project M "Plus" like they are doing on Hawk and Grandby models that are taller campers both collapsed and open. I told them I don't necessarily care about extra storage under the sleeping bed, but it would be nice to have more room for bedding to stay in place as well as to raise the height of the entry door about 5".....and while I'm at it, I want barn doors like your competitors offer. They politely replied with a no on all requests. But it is probably still in the top running....price, weight, functionality, aesthetics. This person below on facebook said their KTM fit, math says it is close on my 2023 450. Just have to live with no barn doors.....or do a DIY barn door setup myself if I can't live with their rear hatch design.

How high is your KTM at the highest point? I have a KTM 690 that I was worried about being able to get in the back of the truck with this cap installed. I lost my deposit when I canceled my order. The owner could not give me a thumbs up on my bike fitting so I pulled the order for now! I have not found another company that works the light end of this market that does not break the bank! Has me thinking about taking a welding class and fab my own up!

My bike is around 50" with bar risers and barkbusters. The ARE DCU 36" above rail shell with barn doors had a rear opening of 52". Plus you got some help with the bars entering the camper while the rear tire is still lower on the ramp. You can see in my pic zoomed in with bike right at that point, there is a couple inches clearance with that ARE shell. I'm worried a Project M with the tailgate in place is going to be a pain, even if you compress the suspension on the bike with a ratchet strap. Ford bedsides are 1" taller than Ram so that helps at 21". Add the Project M door height of 26"....gives you 47" clearance. A while back I found a company in Europe that sells a little wheelbarrow looking tire to install on MX bikes for loading in the back of cargo vans. I tried that at home with a tire from Tractor Supply....and backed out, it was a pain but that is still an option. I would like the bike loading to be as easy as possible. The receiver rack is certainly the easy button, I just know at times I would like the option of the bike inside for multiple reasons. And with a long bed on order.....now I could have the option to put my KTM 950 Super Enduro inside and my 450 outside
