I had channel rails installed on my topper and then put the Yakima system on mine. Channels are an install my topper distributer put on AFTER I bought it. Yakima makes a topper system. Hold more than enough for what you are talking about. I did check (but you should double check) and saw that yakima does make a kayak system you can use on this particular rack.
