Hello and happy holidays fellas. I'm looking for a trusted mechanic in the Vegas area who can fix my 05 montero. The cv axle is starting to move outta the diff and is gushing oil. Thanks in advance.

No shop suggestions, but any good transmission shop should be able to fix that for you. Good luck!

Can you recommend a good one? I'm not from here and don't know a trusted one. Most of the shops I call are not familiar with Montero.

They don’t need to be for this job.
Agreed. Probably all that's needed is a new seal and a circlip. I haven't messed with one, but my guess is that the circlip on the drive axle was pulled free.

The more interesting question to me is what caused it to come loose in the first place?

Nope. You may want to try a shop that's part of a chain that has a shop near your home. If there's a problem later (I doubt there will be), you could take it to your local shop and they'd probably take care of it under warranty.

Dan's Driveline is the best place in Vegas for any type of drivetrain work. I give them two very solid thumbs up. They did my gear swap and a lot of other work for me and friends in town. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks, I'll give them a call. But I think I need to order the parts first as that circlip was a factory defect that Mitsu corrected.
