Ah, Rice Peak is excellent... I'd love to get up there. I'll know end of the week if I can make it. In the meantime, here's an elk.

Sunday...hmm interesting...never been there before...actually not even sure where it is! I'll research it and see how our weekend goes, maybe we can make the trip down.

I strongly recommend it! Not too difficult, but lots of steep and narrow shelf with ridiculous views. It's cool to have a meaningful destination as well, the end of the trail is the dead end at the summit with 360 views! It needn't be entirely an out and back, either. The last bit up to Rice Peak is, but it juts off a cool loop.

Wouldn't be too bad for you guys to get there, place to meet would probably be in or around Oracle, north of Tucson...

I love Rice peak! Regretably I have to leave this weekend for a business trip to NY....Yuck.

Take some pics for me.

Halfway up there, is small right fork off to a cattle tank called Chain Link tank.

That's where I towed my KK up to and camped with my wife.

If I was going to be in town, I would have loved to have joined you.

Enjoy the trip.

Let's just be sure not to take the right turn at the T intersection right before the final climb... I learned where that goes the hard way! Had fun trying to turn around...

I guess I'll toss up some teaser pics of my own!

Bobby, I might be able to make it. So far it looks like I have the weekend off. Hopefully my boss doesn't change my schedule! "Yeaaaaaaaaaahhh ummmmm we're going to need you to come in on Sunday".... It would be fun to camp on Saturday night. I have done that trail a couple of times as well.

Well looks like we are out...I just got home to find out that Josh's cousin has invited himself to stay with us this weekend, so looks like we will be spending at least part of our time entertaining him. The pics look amazing though, I definitely want to do this run soon.

I know how that goes...

I'm down for that. I just have to make sure I don't work on Monday morning. I'll know shortly.

I was thinking we would camp Saturday night if possible. Camping Sunday would be a little iffy for me.

Saturday is my 2 year anniversary with my woman, and I have to take her out to dinner. And she can't camp on Saturday because she works on Sunday morn.

Hmmmm.....

I'm good with a late Saturday camp and Sunday run. I got bumped off the Hostile Lands of SOAZ trip and am interested to meet the AZ Expo tribe before I have to leave for the next project. Where do we meet?

Fun trail! Years ago it used to be tough. Now it's plain fun!

I like the running it as a loop trail. The east loop has the fun steep climbs!

So are you coming?

Ahhh, hmmm, not sure. I promised to take my babe trail running. Rice is far too steep for that. I'll ask her. We did have her run the backroad after coming down from Rice once. Hmmmmmmmmmm
