Tundra / T-100 question

This might sound like a bit of a strange question, but I was wondering for those that own a Tundra or T-100 how the spacce in the extra cab would accomodate two large dogs (65lb and 85lb labs). My wife and I take long road trips every summer and always take the dogs along.

I currently have a 1997 Land Cruiser - which is more than up to the task, but that more than likely will end up being my wife's as she is in love with it. I like the idea of being able to store all of our gear in the back of the truck under a cover or topper and having the dogs stay with us in the cab. I would love a double cab Taco, but for the price that I have to spend they are a bit out of my range. I figure I can pick up a Tundra or T-100 with 90 - 120k miles in the $12 - 13k range, which IMO is still a baby in Toyota standards. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note I actually brought my dogs to a local dealer and asked if I could have them jump in the back for a fit test. Needless to say they didn't accomodate. :p

lol ... about the dogs , if you go to a dealership , and they say you can't put you dogs in the back to see how confortable they are .. I would never go back to that dealership . Unless you dogs are really untrained and muddy , than you have every right to see if they will fit back there . Dogs are just as much as part of the family as a Sweaty , smelly , sticky , fat little kid . and they hop in and out of Brand new cars at dealerships all the time . Let alone a used truck .
Sorry for the rant , i am a dog lover .

Well I don't knowabout dogs, but my son is about 100lbs and 5 feet tall, with the front seats set for adults (I'm 5'8", wife is 5'10") his legs are just shy of reaching the seatback. If they are laying down or sitting sideways in the seat there would be more than enough room. If they sit facing forward it may be close, (dogbreath in your ear while you drive). Not much help I know but its a start.

As far as the T100 goes, fitting one of those dogs in the back of the XtraCab would be no sweat... however, fitting two would prove a bit more tricky I think. Those are some big dogs (compared to our 14 lb pug) and with both of them back there they would probably have to be sitting up... or really comfortable lying down close to each other.

Thanks for all the info - and laughs. . . :D

Looks like I will be keeping the Land Cruiser for myself after all. :victory: The wife is just more comfortable in her RAV4. I know that the Land Cruiser with only @ 125k will be more than a reliable vehicle for quite a long time.

sitting they would have their own space but lying down they would be on each other. Our 2 45lbs dogs fit fine but they like to stretch out a bit also.
