That’s a real thing these days. Once in a while driving the long road to get to our final destination, we’ll have to overnight in a bigger city en route by staying in an RV park. We’ve noticed more and more that these park are restricting campers to those in rigs no older than 10 years old. They specifically seem to exclude rigs like schoolies and home brews,
Yes, for sure. That's maybe in ⅓ of the park rules I read and I've been asked more than a few times. (I've had travel trailers, a 5th wheel, class A, B and C and a truck camper over the years. I most often run into the issue that I travel with 3 dogs, all of whom are present the risk of triple tagging someone with wagging tails and kisses.)
Makes sense of course that they want to cultivate a certain atmosphere at their park. I think this could be considered a form or profiling / discrimination to some degree of course: I say that b/c there are many rigs that are older than 10yr that are MUCH nicer than newer rigs.
On the other hand, better to steer folks clear vs. somehow have to turn them away after they've already gone out of their way to get to a park off the beaten path.
I like the old school "if you come in after hours, just pick a site / set up on in of these specific sites and swing by in the morning" places. Done that more than a few times (as well a sought out a Walmart on occasion.)
