two stroke oil

found an interesting thread a while back, https://www.ls1.com/forums/f48/been-testing-oil-91206/ and I'm going to start trying this in my 2001 Montero. i think it has a sticky valve from sitting for 4 years, and last time i had the engine apart both the valve and its lifters were stuck. replaced the lifters, and some cold mornings i still get a miss. always on cylinder 4. warm weather or Lucas upper cylinder lubricant help it run smoother, but Lucas costs double what 2 stroke oil costs. ill tell you if the 2stroke oil does anything.

If you know already the Montero was sitting for 4 years, why not taking take the time and performing an complete overhaul including new valves, seals, new valve seating and springs?
Your Monty is already 22 years old.
It doesn't hurt to get rid of known issues, at least that would give peace of mind - or go with Ju-Ju oil ;-)

the heads where done on the Montero about 8 years ago. so the valve seals should be good. i ran some seafoam through the intake and my cold stumble is gone. when my grandpa did the heads i doubt he did the lifters, but he did replace all the seals. I'm a lazy fart and don't want to pull the heads, unless someone's paying me (im a shade tree mechanic)

My dad had an old Case tractor with a flat head that would always start and have a couple of sticky valves. Once hot it was ok. He stole back some gas that I had mixed up two stroke oil in and put 5 gallons in the tractor. He plowed a few acres so the engine was plenty hot. He never had a sticky valve after that.
